Overview

iFusion comprises four distinct parts – Collector, Analyzer, Datastore and Connector

From the time when machines were made of gears, levers and pulleys to the present day when electronics drives the world, technology has fundamentally changed the way humans live.

iFusion is all about making technology work for you.

Today, it is all about the data. We generate a constant stream of data in our daily lives. Apart from personal data, our devices generate data too. All this data, allows us to identify and react to patterns. This could range from identifying a customer’s buying behaviour to deciding when they need to bring their car in for maintenance.

iFusion interacts with a variety of technologies to deliver a complete big data solution. The aim is to enable you to get set up easily and begin to see results quickly.

Collector

iFusion works in concert with multiple data collection solutions – both enterprise and open source – to allow you to collect the different kinds of data coming into the system. It works with a number of different plug-ins to accommodate different types of data. iFusion identifies the type of data and decides on the best way to store it in its data store. iFusion installs and configures different plug-ins and tools to meet the requirements of your use case.

Analyzer

Data Science Workbench

Data Science Workbench takes the pain away from data the scientist / analyst to collect the data, prepare the data, classification of data, picking an algorithm to train a data model and finally preparing a model for prediction. All these steps can done by you through a web browser and not by writing any code, and save you up to 60% of your time. The machine learning / AI algorithms are written to take advantage of the parallelism and distributed computing to process large amounts of data and generate higher accuracy data models. While the Data Science Workbench comes with rich set of data preparation, predictive and prescriptive algorithms, it also allows you to add your custom algorithm to the system and use it the workflow.  This flexibility gives extensibility to the system to meet your growing needs.

Descriptive Analytics
iFusion uses data aggregation and data mining to provide insight into data collected historically and answer: “What has happened?”. This can provide a baseline for business or process improvement.
Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics
iFusion uses statistical algorithms to predict potential outcomes for new data fed into models built using historical data. These are complex machine learning algorithms that use statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict the future, or at least what could potentially happen in the future with an associated probability. In addition optimization and simulation algorithms allow the system to provide advice on possible outcomes and answer: “What should we do?”
Streaming Analytics
iFusion allows data arriving in “Real-Time” to be acted on to provide an analytical result or prediction based on how this new data compares to historical data modelled previously and this can contribute to operational decision making.

Query Engine

iFusion allows you to have a transparent, unified view of your data, irrespective of where it is stored. You may have your data stored in one or more of the following – Federated HDFS, in-memory database Spark engine, RDBMS servers, NoSQL data stores or machine-generated data. Based on the query, iFusion will retrieve data from one or more stores and present it to you in the familiar table format.

Job Scheduler

iFusion’s Orchestrator lets you configure all your jobs through the web browser. Using the scheduler, you can define when and at what intervals to execute various jobs.

Analytics Job Workflow

iFusion’s Orchestrator works behind the scenes to coordinate the sequence and flow of jobs. It enables data preparation and training by running the algorithms repeatedly to identify and remove false positives. This results in dependable analytics results.

Datastore.png

Data Store

iFusion Data Store is comprised of federated data stores. These data stores can contain structured data (RDBMS), unstructured data, or semi-structured data. iFusion will be able to provide a unified view of the data across all data stores configured with iFusion. This federated datastore architecture eliminates unnecessary copying of data to a central data store before processing. iFusion’s unique tiered-storage model lets you store large amounts of data without compromising on retrieval times. You can archive data to low cost storage using iFusion tiered-storage.  You can submit a single query accessing data across one or more federated data stores, archived and online data seamlessly. Its open architecture allows it to interface with systems such as EMC ECS, NAS, SAN and S3 from Amazon.

Connector

This component allows iFusion to interoperate with external systems to deliver specific functionality.  These include Directory Services – AD/LDAP for user authentication, intelligent storage, to manage ageing data at an effective cost; communication mechanisms such as email/SMS/web and external accelerators such as data aggregators or computation engines.

Security

Security of data and the access to it, is of paramount importance as increasingly critical operational decisions are being driven by analytical processes. iFusion is especially aware of these requirements and the product is continuously evolving its security stance. Core Security functionality includes.

 

User Access
Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and Integration with directory services including LDAP and Active Directory for all levels of iFusion user.
Audit Trail
All activity within the iFusion system is monitored and recorded and can be retrieved for purposes such as evidential submission.
Data Immutability
Data in iFusion can be configured so that once written the data is read-only and cannot be modified or deleted by policy. This capability is built into the iFusion Datastore.
Encryption
Data in-transit is protected with SSL encryption by the iFusion Collector and Data at rest can be encrypted at the point of storage within the iFusion Datastore.

The core of the above functionality is built on the Apache Hadoop Opensource stack, utilising and enhancing relevant elements to deliver against specific business issues. iFusion has received certification from Hortonworks for the innovative use of their distribution and we are working with other distributions as requirements evolve.
